Got a friend or partner who loves YouTube? YouTube is testing something pretty cool—a new subscription plan you can share with just one other person!
What's the Deal?
YouTube is trying out a two-person Premium plan in a few countries, including India, France, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. The idea is simple: why pay full price when you can split it?
A YouTube spokesperson explained, "We want to give our subscribers more flexibility. Now, two people can enjoy Premium features without breaking the bank."
How Much Does It Cost? (Using India as an example)
Solo plan: 140 rupees per month
New two-person plan: 219 rupees per month
Family plan: 299 rupees per month
Why This Matters
This isn't YouTube's first experiment with flexible pricing. They recently launched a Lite version that lets you watch videos without ads, though it doesn't include all the cool extras like:
Ad-free music videos
Offline downloads
Background play
The Bigger Picture
More and more services are getting creative with subscriptions. They're realizing not everyone needs (or wants) a full individual plan. Sharing is caring—and now, saving too!
Keep an eye out.

If this test goes well, you might see this two-person plan in more countries soon.
