Apple refunds cover purchases from the App Store, iTunes Store, Apple Books, or even physical devices bought online or in-store. Refunds are generally available if you purchased by mistake, didn’t get the content, or a subscription renewed unintentionally. For digital items, most requests are made online—no need to call support unless your case is more complicated.

Step 1: Request a Digital Content Refund via Apple’s Website
Go to reportaproblem.apple.com.Log in with your Apple ID—the same one used to make the purchase.
Find the Item:All your recent App Store, iTunes, and other Apple purchases show up here.
Select “I’d like to…”Choose “Request a refund.”
Choose Reason:Options include accidental purchase, minor made a purchase, didn’t mean to renew, item didn't work, or other reasons.
Submit Your Request:Pick the app, subscription, or purchase to refund, confirm all prompts, and hit Submit.
Wait for Review:Most requests are responded to in 24–48 hours. You’ll get an email with approval or denial.
Pro tip: If denied, you can contact Apple Support to plead your case—sometimes they’ll reconsider, especially if it’s your first request or for a child’s accidental click.
Step 2: Request a Refund for Physical Products
Go to the Order Status page on www.apple.com.
Find Your Order and Start a Return:Most devices are eligible for a return/refund within 14–15 days of delivery (check local policy).
Print Return Labels/Instructions:Follow prompts to ship the item back. Refunds are issued back to the original payment method once Apple receives the return.
Step 3: Request a Subscription Refund (App Store, Apple Music, etc.)
If you already canceled a subscription but want a refund, you still need to request it through reportaproblem.apple.com—doing so in Apple ID Settings only stops future charges, NOT refunds the last one.
Hardware and subscriptions each have their own eligibility criteria—Apple rarely refunds recurring subscription payments unless you request right after the renewal.
Refund Eligibility Tips
Most digital purchases are eligible for refund within 14 days, especially if unused or there was a technical issue.
Refund requests flagged as abusive or fraudulent may be denied.
“Family Sharing” refunds must be requested by the account holder who made the purchase.
Bank processing for refunds may take several extra days.
Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, select your purchase, explain the reason, and submit. For physical returns, start from your Order Status page. Always watch for confirmation emails and follow up with Apple Support if your first request is denied.
