First, confirm what you actually have

“Gemini Pro subscription” usually refers to a Google AI plan (e.g., Gemini Advanced/Google AI Pro/Ultra) that’s billed through Google One. You manage or cancel it from Gemini’s “View subscriptions” or directly in Google One.

If you’re a business admin paying for Gemini for Google Workspace (add-ons like Google AI Ultra for Business), you cancel that in the Admin console under Billing.

Before you cancel

  • Cancel where you subscribed. Web/Google-billed plans are canceled in Google One or via Gemini → Settings → View subscriptions. App-store purchases must be canceled in that app store. (Google Help)

  • Refunds & trials. Google One notes limited refund scenarios; most plans just stop future renewals. (Play Store has its own cancellation flow and localized rules.)

  • Storage impact (consumer plans). AI plans are part of Google One. When you cancel/downgrade, your storage reverts to the free 15 GB; if you’re over quota, sending mail/uploads can be restricted until you’re back under the limit.

Option A — Cancel on the web (Google-billed, fastest)

Path 1 (from Gemini):

  1. Open gemini.google.com → Menu → Settings & help → View subscriptions.

  2. You’ll land in Google One to change or cancel your plan. (Google Help)

Path 2 (direct in Google One):

  1. Go to one.google.com (desktop).

  2. Settings → Cancel membership (or choose a cheaper plan to downgrade). (Google Help)

Option B — Cancel on Android

  • Google One app: Menu → Settings → Cancel membership. (Google Help)

  • If you subscribed via Google Play: Play Store → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → (Your plan) → Cancel. (Google Help)

Option C — Cancel on iPhone/iPad (Apple-billed)

If you joined via an in-app purchase on iOS, cancel in Apple Subscriptions:Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → (Your plan) → Cancel Subscription. (Apple Support)

Option D — Workspace admins (business/education add-ons)

For Gemini for Google Workspace add-ons:Admin console → Billing → Subscriptions → (Gemini add-on) → Cancel subscription. This ends Gemini licenses but keeps your other Workspace services. (Google Help)

What happens after you cancel

  • Access window: You typically keep AI access until the end of the paid period; renewals stop afterward (app-store rules may vary). (youtube.com)

  • Storage (consumer Google One): Your account reverts to 15 GB total. If you exceed it, Gmail and Drive can be limited until you free space or re-subscribe. (Google Help)

  • Workspace: Gemini features/licences end, but your core Workspace subscription continues. (Google Help)

Troubleshooting

  • Can’t find the cancel button? Open your Google Account → Payments & subscriptions to see where it’s billed, then cancel in that place. (Google Help)

  • Play Store loop or app glitch? Cancel from the Play Store Subscriptions webpage instead of the app. (Google Help)

  • Need a partial refund? Check Google One’s policy and your purchase channel (Google Play/Apple have their own refund processes). (youtube.com)
